A landmark bill guaranteeing restroom access to New York City meal delivery workers has been passed by City Council members. The demand had been brought by the grassroots coalition of thousands of immigrant delivery workers in the city, Los Deliveristas Unidos . The cyclists demanded legal access to the restrooms of the restaurants from which they ensure the delivery of food or drink. Until now, auto-entrepreneurs relieved themselves in bushes, bottles or bags. This claim was among others, which were heard by the members of the municipal council.

Provide worker protections

Bill de Blasio, the mayor of New York, as well as the delivery application GrubHub, supported the project led by Los Deliveristas Unidos. New York is one of the largest food delivery markets in the United States.
